Recently I tried my hand at Hula Hooping.
Its so much fun and a bit of a challenge, so far I've been able to keep the hoop up for 4 songs.
So... I had a bit of difficulty keeping my hoop up so went on youtube for some advice and found Deanne Love's channel. I found her 'How to Hula Hoop for TOTAL BEGINNERS' video and it helped me straight away.
I subscribed to Deanne's videos and today her '40 Days of Flow' video appeared.
Deanne felt she wasn't in a good flow in her day to day life and had lost some motivation to do the things that make her feel good. This sounded vey familiar so I watched on. The idea behind the "40 Days of Flow" is to add back to your day, habits that make you feel good and motivate you to do more healthy practices. I've already picked up some new habits with my running schedule and hooping so feel I'm in a really good place to try this 40 days of adding new habits.
So starting from the 1st of August 2014 I will be adding 10 new habits to my day to day life.
1. Get up early!
2. Exercise in the morning - Hooping, Pilates, Running.
3. Drink more water! I even bought a swanky new cup with a cage for fruit to make this easier. Every little helps!
4. Read something relevant to my Masters Course. I start back on the 8th of September so the 40 days of flow will help be prepare.
5. Meditate. (Steeling this from Deanne's list) I recently downloaded a Mindfulness App and think it would be a good addition to my day to have 10 minutes of peacefulness to hopefully help with some of my anxiety
6. Switch off from the internet a good hour or so before going to bed. This will be tough!
7. Eat fresh, nutritious food.
8. Keep up to date with blogging. Started this one up again and another one about living in a new city.
9. Do something creative! Be it make something, write something or even prepare to make some thing I want to get all my ideas out of my head (That was the initially idea behind this blog in the first place)
10. GO OUTSIDE EVERY DAY! I have realised I get anxious about going out side but once i'm out it makes me feel so good. So even on non-run days I need to go for a wee walk just to blow the cob webs away and just generally feel good!
So hopefully this will spur me on to make some changes for the better and get my blood pumping and get my brain stimulated before heading back to university!
Wish me luck! And if you want to get involved let me know how you get on! Tx
